Mahamed Aly

Mahamed Aly, a revered black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, is celebrated globally for his remarkable prowess in both gi and no-gi contests. He was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and embarked on his martial arts journey through kickboxing at 15. His focus shifted towards grappling after experiencing firsthand the power of jiu-jitsu during an MMA sparring session, where a jiu-jitsu athlete easily submitted him.

Mahamed's main accomplishments: 

   •    IBJJF World Champion (4x)

   •    IBJJF European Open Champion (4x)

   •    IBJJF European Open No-Gi Champion (2x)

   •    2018 Male Gi Athlete of the Year on Flo Grappling

Beyond his illustrious accomplishments on the mats, Mahamed Aly is also renowned for his superior teaching abilities. His attention to detail and unique ability to simplify complex techniques have made him a popular instructor. His signature move is the Helicopter Sweep, and he is a fierce competitor in the Super Heavyweight division, which comprises athletes weighing up to 100 kg or 221 lbs.
